Raw milk

Saimme tuttavien maatilalta raakamaitoa ja leivoin siitä pannarin, luomuaineksiin tietysti. Voi pojat, että oli hyvää! Tästä pannarista on ohje täällä, tosin tähän versioon vähensin runsaasti voita ja sokeria. Kuvissa näkyvässä vuoassa on puolikas annos taikinaa.

We got some raw milk from our friend's farm and I used it for pancake along with other organic ingrediants. Dear heavens, it was sooo gooood. The recipe for the pancake is very simple:

4 dl of organic wheat flour
1½ dl of organic sugarn (you can use much less if prefered)
1 ts of vanilla sugar
1 ts of baking powder
2 organic eggs
100 g of melted organic butter (you can reduce the amount to atleast 50g)


Just mix the dry ingrediants and then add milk, butter and eggs. Mix well and pour on an oven pan with high edges. Cook in about 200-225 degrees of celcius for about half hour until golden brown from the top. The pancake on the pictures is made of half of this recipe.

Franka

Äiti tietää miten yllättää iloisesti. Kotipaikkakunnallani järjestetään vuosittain Antiikki- ja Keräilymessut ja hän oli löytänyt sieltä tämän aarteen mulle. Oijoi, kun suupielet kääntyivät voimakkaasti ylöspäin tämän nähtyäni. On se niin hieno! Haitari on moitteetton, ja kamera näyttää muutenkin oikein hyväkuntoiselta. Yksi asia oli mammalta kuitenkin unohtunut, nimittäin kysyä toimiiko tämä aarre. Siitä pitäisi siis ottaa selvää.

My mom knows how to pleseantly suprise me. At my home town there is an antique fair every summer and she found this Franka camera from there. It's from the fifties I think. It is absolutely beautiful and in very good condition. One thing she did forget though - to ask if it actually works. Need to find out.

Crepes and treasures

Edes kerran kesässä pitää saada muurinpohjalettuja. Tehtiin sitten kerralla sekä pää-, että jälkiruoka. Suolaisissa letuissa on sisällä porkkanaa, kesäkurpitsaa, kevätsipulia ja mausteita. Jälkiruokaletut nautittiin kera tuoreiden mustikoiden ja metsämansikoiden sekä suklaan. Molemmat astiat ovat vanhaa arabiaa, jotka olen hankkinut vuosia sitten halvalla ja unohtanut äidin säilöön. Voitte uskoa, että nappasin ne mukaani.

Once in every summer I must make these giant crepes that are made on a big pan on open fire. They taste absolutely delicious, specially when they have a hint of smokey taste in them. We stuffed them in two ways - the salty one included spring onion, zucchini, carrots and spices and the sweet ones we enjoyed with fresh wild strawberries and blueberries along with some chocolate. Both dishes are Finnish Design brand Arabia, they are old and I bought them years ago for a bargain price and just forgot them at my mom's. Yeah, I did take them home with me this time.

Horse riding

Kävin kotimaisemissa elämäni toisen kerran ratsastustunneilla. Ensimmäinen oli viime kesänä, enkä oikein luottanut omiin hevosen käsittelytaitoihini, mutta tällä kertaa olo tuntui varmemmalta. Nautin oikein toden teolla kolmanten päivänä, kun sain nostettua hevoseni kunnolla laukkaan ja kestin selässä.

I took three horse riding lessons this summer. Last summer I took my first one and I didn't trust my skill as a rider, but this time I felt safer and more confident. I wast mostly enjoying myself on the third lesson, when the horse was gallopping me on the back and I didn't fall off.

Little troll

Hän tykkää paloautoista ja kirjoista. Hän lähettää kummille suukkoja puhelimessa. Hänellä on maailman suloisin kikatus. Hän näyttää erityisen suloiselta keskittyessään. Rakkauspakkaus.

He likes books and fire trucks. He sends kisses to his godparent while talking on the phone. He has the most sweetest giggle. When he puts his mind on something and is focusing, then he looks the cutest. A package full of love.
